Hey everyone! Today I am very excited to review the limited edition Ariel Palette by Elf. I found this palette at Walgreens, and I believe that is the only place that it is being sold.
First of all, I think this is super cute. Disney fans and Ariel fans are going to love this, just for the collectable aspect. I think the concept and packaging are very cute, and you can tell that a good amount of thought was put into it!
In this palette you are getting a style guide which shows you how to create two looks with this palette, nine eyeshadows, two bronzers, a lip gloss, a mini face brush, an eyeshadow brush, and a small mirror for $10. The only thing I won’t use in this palette is the mini face brush. It’s not very good quality and the size and shape don’t make it too usable.
Here are the eyeshadow shades Sand Dollar, Coral Reef, and Tropical Wave, without and with flash.
Here is the second row, North Star, For Shore, and Siren Song, without and with flash.
This is the bottom row, Seaweed, Seashell, and Brilliant Sea, without and with flash. Seashell is the only matte color in the palette and the pigmentation is pretty disappointing.
The eyeshadows in this palette are so-so. They’re not horrible but they’re not amazing either. I wish that there was more of a variation of finishes in this palette, but I do like the shade choices. The texture on these is not too bad, except for the matte purple, which was very dry.
Here are the bronzers you get in this palette. There is a deeper one, Conch Shell, and a lighter one, Tan Lines, and they are both a satin finish.
I actually really like these! The pigmentation and texture are both very nice, and I will definitely use them!
Here is the lip gloss that comes with the palette, called Go On and Kiss the Girl. It’s not super pigmented, but it does give off nice shine and the color compliments the palette well.
I’ve gotten a few of these in previous Elf collection palettes, and I’ve never been a huge fan. I tend to like more opaque lip colors, but if you want something subtle, you might like this one.
Overall, I think if you are a Disney or Ariel fan, this is definitely a nice piece to have in your collection! However, if you’re looking for high quality makeup, you won’t find it here. The bronzers are my favorite part of this palette, and I also like the eyeshadow brush, but the eyeshadows and lip color aren’t impressing me too much. It is a good value, though, because you get a large variety of products and shades.
I’m glad I have this in my collection because of the theme, but it isn’t something I’m telling you to run out and buy right away!
